The oldest zoo in Texas, founded in 1909, the Fort Worth Zoo was recently ranked the No. 1 attraction in the DFW Metroplex by Zagat survey. With a 64-acre facility, the Fort Worth Zoo is great for an afternoon walk and is also ADA compliant. The Fort Worth Zoo is home to more than 500 different animal species and houses a world-famous reptile collection!
Established at the fork of the Trinity River in 1849. the Fort Worth Stockyards, commonly referred to as "Cowtown", represented the last “civilized” outpost for cowboys driving cattle to market along the famous Chisholm Trail. This authentic and historic district is now home to some of the best regional restaurants, entertaining, and shopping.

Established in 1934, the beautiful Fort Worth Botanic Gardens are the oldest botanic gardens in Texas. Most of the garden is a free, walkable exhibit that includes more than 2,500 species of native and exotic plants.
